The Code Enforcement Board Meeting was called to order by Chairman Gary Hunt at 7:03 p. m. Roll Call: Gary Hunt, Chairman, present Jay Alpert, present George Mahoney, absent J. R. Hattaway, present Ben Kaplan, present Victor Suarez, present Jack Cooper, Code Prosecutor, present J. R. Bradshaw, Code Inspector, present Motion was made by Hattaway, seconded by Kaplan to approve the minutes of September 28, 1981. Motion carried. There was discussion of the progress of the Board. Mr. Cooper announced that he would be leaving soon. The City Manager is to get together with theChairman to see what procedures would be necessary to insure continuity on the Board. The Board members expressed their regrets to Mr. Cooper on his leaving and wished him well in his next endeavor. Mr.Cooper summarized that the Board, by virtue of it being here, and by virtue of the way it has conducted its business, has succeeded in the end result. Mr. Cooper reported that the City Manager will get with the new Chairman and go over the format of the operation in reference to the motion that was made at the September 28th meeting. . Vote for Chairman: Mr. Alpert nominated Mr. Suarez as Chairman. Seconded by Hattaway. Motion was made by Kaplan, seconded by Hattaway, to make it a unanimous election that Mr. Suarez is Chairman of the Code Enforcement Board. Motion carried unanimously. Vote for Vice-Chairman: Hattaway received one vote; Alpert received one vote; Kaplan received three votes. Mr. Kaplan is the new vice-chairman. Mr. Hunt turned the meeting over to Mr. Suarez. Mr. Suarez thanked Mr. Bradshaw and the City Clerk for their assistance to the Board. Meeting was adjourned by motion of Hunt, seconded by Alpert at 7:30 p. m.
