Hill mentioned that railroad ties could be used around the signs. There was a brief discussion of the removal of trees on Tuskawilla Road when the widening of the road begins. The building of the (Oak Forest) wall will begin in May 1998. 7. Arbor Dav The members felt that this year's tree giveaway did not go as well as last year's. There was not enough public notice. Central Winds Park was not as convenient as the fire stations; there were non-city functions going on at the park that day. There was some disappointment in the selection of trees, and the fact that the residents could only get one tree instead of two like at last year's giveaway. Oak trees were recommended. Approximately 150 trees were given away; trees are still available at the Public Works Department. MINUTES BEAUTIFICATION OF WINTER SPRINGS BOARD AUGUST 13, 1997 - REGULAR MEETING PAGE 2 OF 2 8. Response to Park/Recreational Facllities and Proposed Residential Developments Memorandum (from Grimms dated 05-07-97) Members made a few comments: Park areas or fees-in-lieu-of should not be the first thing to go in negotiations; it doesn't seem fair when only some have to abide; it should be the same for everyone; all subdivisions with a certain number of houses should have a park within the neighborhood; there's always room for improvement in the level of service. 10.
