RE: Median Irrigation
We have researched BOWS Board request to "turn on" the median
irrigation and have found that there is no existing irrigation or
water service for the following medians: Moss Road, Edgemon
Avenue, E1derwood Street, Murphy Road and Pearl Road. Getting
water service to any of these medians would require a jack and
bore under the road.
We have also contacted DER about utilizing reclaimed water for
the irrigation of Winter Springs Boulevard. Lee Miller of DER
has indicated that as long as a construction permit was not
required, he did not see a problem with it. He has requested
that drawings be submitted delineating the areas in question. We
- have determined that the Winter Springs Boulevard median from
Howe 11 Creek to Bear Creek can easily be converted to reclaimed
water.
The conversion of the median from the western Northern Way
intersection to Howell Creek will require some line installation
but should not require a permit. Reclaimed water irrigation from
Tuscawilla Road to Northern Way will require a construction
permit which would trigger the Class I Reliability requirements.
To reach Class I Reliability, improvements would have to be made
at the treatment plant at an estimated cost of 1. 5 to 2 million
dollars . ~e will keep you informed of our progress with DER.
