Seconded by Meta. Vote: All aye. Motion carried. - Jacobs gave the Board members a COpy of a letter she received from Mayor Kulbes regarding the purchase of palm tr'ees from Pursley inc. The palms are the Washingtonia palm and are 5-6 feet in height and are sold in lots of 270 trees for $8.00 per tree. Jacobs said that Adams spoke Wi"tn the Publ ic Works depar'crnent to see if they could plant the trees. Ad@ns said that she was told that anything that the City approved, they will lend their support. There was discussion on when to plant the trees. Meta suggested having the planting cOinciae with Beautification Week. Jacobs sald that it would be rree if we hac'v'olunteers from the community relp with the planting. Jacobs said tnat they would take out the rnap and see where D.O.T. wi 11 al low us to plant trees. We can plant some on "the right-of-ways such as Moss Road. Edgemon, Murphy Road and we can see if tre riighlands would like some. Jacobs also said since the Board is getting the money frO'll trees that are cut down, we are replacing then: that way. -'-ne Board members present wer'e Hi agreement to purchase the trees. For the next meet i ng a letter will be drafted to give to the schools and scouts and ciubs to see if they would be interested in participating in this project with the B.O.W.S. The Board discussed the judging of the Holiday Contest. it was determined that the Board wi 11 meet at Ci ty Ha 11 at 5: 30 P. t"i. on December 22nd.
