County Home Rd. Sanbd. FL 11711 Dear Principal: Recently Governor Chiles declared January 10th to the 16th as Florida's Arbor Week. Many schools in Seminole County have traditionally recognized Arbor Day by planting trees on their school campuses. ,-- I have set a goal to plant 1-2 trees at every Seminole County school! six species of trees are available and include: Dogwood, red maple, riverbirch, red cedar, shumard oak and red bud. It is my hope that a class or club could adopt these trees to provide the best chance for their survival. This program is the only one in the state of Florida providing trees to every school in Seminole County. Please help me make this a successful program by passing this letter on to an environmentally minded faculty person at.your school. I wish to develop a contact list as soon as possible. By working together we can make this the best Arbor Week ever! Board Members .r'. RE: Allocated Money - per Jean Jacobs conversation with Harry Martin The B.O.W.S. Board and the Commerce and Industry Board share $4,300. We must use this money before September 30, 1993. If neither board uses it before September 30, 1993 it will be a loss to both boards. Harry understands the Commerce and Industry board is planning a brochure and they do not know as of yet the total cost, however, they will be using a portion of the money. I asked Harry about setting up a petty cash fund for us. He said he did not recommend it. He said we will have no problems getting reimbursed for any money we do spend. All we have to do is turn in our sales ticket. However, if we purchase anything over $50.00 we will need a purchase order. Under $50.00 we will ~ need a purchase order. If we purchase $500.00 or more we will need to have 3 different cost estimates. If we purchase $4,000 or more we need t~t it out for bid. .,-.-..---....---.-. ._.._--~_.~-,_.- For contest, we hold, we can use the promotional Commissions budget money ~ instead of ours (must be under $50.00 to do this). ____----. ",-.. Harry said he has no problems if we want to do a fund raiser. We would have to talk to Glen and see if the city would be covered for a Carnival. He said we could even have a plant sale - purchase with city money. ($2.50 a plant - sell for $5.00 - reimburse the city the $2.50, the rest would be ours for our funds).
