Seconded by Meta and Jacobs arrived shortly Commission Meeting- of Aug-ust 24, 1992: Stephens suggested scheduling a workshop between the Commission and the BOWS Board. Stephens discussed F.D.O.T. grant application requests, which will be followed up by Meta at the October BOWS meeting. Discussion followed regarding Commissioner Kaehler1s suggestion of working out an agreement with owner of a vacant lot, John Casselberry. This agreement would allow the BOWS Board to have shrubs planted etc., in the hopes of making the lot more attractive. Stephens mentioned a telephone call he received. The Caller was complaining that the City has not been maintaining the right-of-way area along the northern side of Shepard Road as it nears the Highlands. The BOWS Board was being asked by the Caller to check that this property be mowed regularly; and, could the BOWS Board help should the City not keep up with the mowing? Denny questioned if this was a purpose of the BOWS Board? Stephens opened this question to the Board asking for their interpretation of the Commission's statements: Stephens believes the Board should be involved in certain situations. Meta believed the Commission gave the BOWS Board the go-ahead to decide which direction the Board should proceed, which would include sending letters to citizens who are not upkeeping their property. Adams questioned whether or not the Commission must approve BOWS projects? Zahand noted that finances were a concern of the Commission, with Jacobs noting that there are funds allotted to the BOWS Board. ~ ~ ,'-"'" J BOWS Board Minutes September 9, 1992 Page 2 As their future project, the Board selected "Holiday B.O.W.S".
