HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989 09 06 Beautification of Winter Springs Board Regular Minutes - . . ~ BEAUTIFICATION OF WINTER SPRINGS BOARD MEETING WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 1989 The BOWS Board Meeting was called to order by Carl Stephens, Chairman, at 7:00 P.M.. ROLL CALL: Cindy Genne11, Present James Gray, Absent Jesse Grantham, Present Susan Reid, Absent Jim Hanley, Present Diane Brown, Present Carl Stephens, Present Cindy Gennell made a motion to accept the minutes of the August 30, 1989 meeting as written subject to the approval of the final By-Laws coinciding. Jim Hanley seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. The Board read over the amended By-Laws. Jim Hanley made a motion to accept the By-Laws and submit them to formal approval by the City. Cindy Gennell seconded the motion. All Ayes. Motion carried. Jackie Koch, City Planner, presented a map of the City, showing the land within the City limits, and the boundaries of the City. Entrances to the City were discussed. Discussion. Jackie Koch suggested that the Board lobby for better code enforcement. She said she could have maps mailed to Board Members. Carl Stephens suggested starting working on the older areas. He suggested the area of 434 and 17-92, coming into Winter Springs. He suggested that the Board Members drive around and look at areas to get ideas for the next meeting. Cindy Gennell suggested asking Mike Martin, Urban Forester for Seminole County, and Gil Artman, Public Works Director, to the next meeting on October 11 to enlighten the Board concerning the Arbor Ordinance. She made a motion to try to get Gil Artman and/or Mike Martin to attend the October 11 Meeting and give us their insight into the code enforcement of the Arbor Ordinance. Carl Stephens seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried. Carl Stephens asked the Board Members to have some suggestions for a project by the next meeting. He said to add Possible Projects to the Agenda for the next meeting. Carl Stephens made motion to adjourn. All ayes. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 Respectfully Submitt~d, Caroline McGinley
