TRUSTEES MEETING - PENSION PLAN
CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA
SEPTEMBER 28, 1983 - 10:00 A.M.
Present:
Mayor John V. Torcaso
City Manager Richard Rozansky
Commissioner Inez Linville
Trustee Troy Piland
Attorney Robert Mead
Mr. Terry Wood, Erisa Compliance Systems ,Inc.
Attorney Frank Kruppenbacher, City Attorney
The meeting was called to talk with Mr. Wood about the Florida Municipal Pension
Plan. Mr. Wood explained the Plan could be whatever plan the City wishes to have
for their employees. The trust is a collective of a number of cities that have
plans that invest their funds in this trust, that will then invest the funds that
will help pay for the benefits of the plan.
Mr. Wood said as administrators of the Trust for the Florida League of Cities
Florida Municipal Pension Trust Fund they could do the administration for the City
or the City could use them merely for investment purposes, whichever way they chose.
The City could be a member of the Plan, make monthly contributions or quarterly and
they would handle all of the reporting requirements. The City would have a local
pension committee to receive reports, coordinate meetings with the employees, and
attend annual meetings.
Mr. Wood explained the City would have to sign an en]01ner agreement which he will
send to Attorney Mead. Attorney Mead will redo the pension plan, and the Commission
~ will be apprised on October 11 that the Trustees of the Pension Plan have elected
to go with the Florida Municipal Pension Plan.
Motion was made by Piland, seconded by Rozansky that the Board of Trustees of the
Winter Springs Pension Plan has elected to go with the Florida Municipal Pension Plan.
Motion carried.
Meeting was adjourned at 10:40 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary T. Norton,
City Clerk
