REQUEST: Utility Department Requesting the Appearance of the Seminole County
Director of Environmental Services to Respond to the City's OtTer to Provide
Bulk Potable Water Services.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this Board item is to request the attendance of Warren Wagner,
Seminole County Director of Environmental Services, to Respond to the City's
offer to enter into an Agreement to provide bulk potable water service to the
Sunshadow PUD,
CONSIDERATIONS:
The possibility of providing potable water on a bulk basis to the Sunshadow PUD
became apparent during the annexation consideration process of the LefilerlWinn Dixie
parcel. The City had a study conducted to formulate a bulk water rate and this
information was provided to Warren Wagner, Seminole County Director of Environmental
Services, on March 12, 1998.
The Sunshadow PUD, which includes the apartments and the shopping center
under construction, is provided potable water at a rate of $0,88/1,000 gallons from the
City of Casselberry through an expired interlocal agreement. The City of Winter Springs
has proposed a bulk water rate of $0,56/1,000 gallons or $0.78/1,000 depending on who
pays the cost to interconnect the systems.
