BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MINUTES
MARCH 3, 1994
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Greene
BOARD MEMBERS:

Approval of Minutes of February 17, 1994
Greene asked for any questions, comments or corrections concerning
the minutes; none submitted. Minutes stand approved.
Request of David Butler for a variance to Section 20-163, 1 (b) of
the code. The property, 219 Bennet Street, is located in the North
Orlando Townsite, Fourth Addition Replat of Sheet No.2, Lot 22
Govoruhk presented the case to the Board stating that the Butlers
did not meet the setback requirements of twenty-five (25) feet for
their zoning of RIA which is why the Butlers are requesting a
variance.
Mrs. Butler stated that at the rear of their home, they plan to
bring out an addition which will be a Master Bedroom with Bath, and
additional closet/storage space.
Greene asked Mrs. Butler to confirm that this addition was going to
be a Master Suite and not a playroom or game room. Mrs. Butler
answered, "Yes, that's correct".
Greene stated that the Butler's are presently about thirty-four
(34) feet plus from the rear property line, and they are looking to
come out about seventeen feet. The Butlers are then looking for a
variance of about eight (8) feet from the required rear setback of
twenty-five (25) feet.
Greene asked if there was anyone present who had any comments or
questions for or against this addition. No comments were submitted.
Greene asked the Board for any questions or comments.
Becker asked Mrs. Butler if she had any objections from her
neighbors. Butler stated that her neighbors had no objections.
Adams asked, and it was confirmed; that certified notices went out
to all surrounding neighbors concerning the addition.
Adams made a motion that the Board except the variance as
requested, and limit it, to seventeen (17) feet from the rear
property line based on the fact that there were no objections from

the Butler's neighbors.
There was some discussion.
Seconded by Becker. Vote: All Aye. Motion carried.
Greene stated that the variance granted allows the Butlers to build
within seventeen (17) feet from the rear property line.
Adams moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Becker. Meeting
was adjourned at 7:10 P.M.
