The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Bill Jacobs. ROLL CALL: Ellen Weiss-Chairman, present Bill Jacobs-Vice Chairman, present Louise Poole, present Ted Holz, present Harry Reid, absent CITY OFFICHiLS: Jacq~eline Koch, City Planner Jack Cooper, City Engineer Chairman Weiss stated for the record that Mr. Reid did notify the Board of his absence, due to a death in the family, subsequently would be out of town. Motion was made by Jacobs and seconded by Poole to approve the Minutes of March 17, 1983. Discussion. Vote: all aye, motion carried. REQUEST OF JOY AND AGNES MILLER FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTION IN ZONE R-IA TO CONSTRUCT AN ADDITION AS NEAR AS 6 INCHES TO THE EAST SIDE LOT LINE OF LOT 28, WALDEN TERRACE (549 BROOKSIDE DRIVE) (SECTION 44.33). Presentation by Ms. Koch. Discussion. Mr. Joy Miller, 549 Brookside Drive, came forward and was sworn in. Discussion. There was no one to speak for or against this request. Motion by Jacobs and seconded by Poole to approve the request of Joy and Agnes Miller. Discussion. Vote: all aye, motion carried. REQUEST OF JOHN BALDWIN FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTION IN ZONE C-l TO LOCATE A BUILDING AS NEAR AS 15 FEET TO DEVON AND FAIRFAX AVENUES ADJACENT TO RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY WITH 25-FOOT FRONT SETBACKS (LOTS A-F, BLOCK 18, REPLAT OF NORTH ORLANDO FIRST AND SECOND ADDITIONS PROPERTY WITH FRONTAGE ON THREE STREETS: NORTH SIDE OF S.R. 434, FAIRFAX AND DEVON) (SECTION 44. 51) . Presentation by Ms. Koch during which she stated concern that reduction of the setback from Devon and Fairfax: 1) would eliminate 1200 square feet of green area; 2) would alter the established pattern of the neighborhood in that the homes all set back 25 feet and a commercial building protruding forward of the homes would disrupt their view; and 3) would cause a safety hazard in that drivers exiting the driveway immediately in front of the building would have a decreased angle of vision of the side street which is a pedestrianway used by school children. Discussion from the Board. Input from Nr. Cooper as to the side entrances of the project in relation to entrance on 434. Discussion. Mr. John Baldwin, 500 17-92, Fern Park, Florida was sworn in. Discussion. There was no one to speak for or against this request in the audience, Motion by Jacobs to approve the request of Mr. John Baldwin. Seconded by Holz. Dis- cussion. Vote: Weiss, aye; Jacobs, aye; Holz, aye; Poole, nay. Motion carried. Chairman Weiss brought up the appeal to the Commission from Virgil Godinho and Fausto DaSilva that was before this Board on March 3, 1983. Discussion, Chairman Weiss brought up Mr. Hatfield, Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Board, letter regarding input from this Board on the review of the proposed new zoning revisions. Discussion.
