REGULAR MEETING
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
OCTOBER 20, 1976
The Regular Meeting of the Board of Adjustment of the City of Winter Springs,
Florida was calI;d to order by Larry Pellerin, Chairman, at 7:30 P. M. The
pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Robert Melton. All members were
present.

The Chairman recessed the Regular Meeting and opened the Public Hearing to
hear the request of Cumberland Farms to install and operate self-service
gas pumps at the Cumberland Farms Store, Highway 434, Winter Springs. Mr.
Selig, Cumberland Farms representative, was present to speak for the request.
No one spoke against the variance. Mary Brunner was concerned about the
traffic and congestion that will be generated by the gas pumps. Mr. Selig
explained there is room for expansion of parking, but present parking would
be adequate if the employees of the stores would park in the rear. Mr.
Pellerin closed the public hearing and re-opened the Regular Meetirtg.

The Chairman said this is a request for a variance to Sec. 44.47, Uses
Permitted in C-l Neighborhood Commercial District.

Motion was made by Bob Melton that we grant a variance for the gas pumps at
the Cumberland Farms Store. Seconded by Tom Craven. Discussion. Motion
carried. Variance is granted.
In discussion of other business, Mr. Ross Turley of Hacienda Village had
questions concerning the procedures for getting a variance to the zoning
laws. He asked what would be the.procedure for the park to be allowed to
set up model homes on various lots. Mr. Turley said this is restricted
by the zoning laws. Chairman Pellerin said he would have to research this
for proper procedure before he could give an answer to this.
Mr. Turley also reported that trailers have been brought in and are being
sold, and he asked why something isn't being done about it.
The Sales Office at the Park was granted a variance for one year which will
be expiring this month. Chairman Pellerin said it is the responsibility of
the park to request another variance and also the responsibility of the
Building Department to tell them their variance has run out.
Unless something spec'ffic comeS up, there will be no meeting in November or
December. The next meeting is scheduled for the third Wednesday in-January.
Chairman Pellerin requested that copies be given to members of Council and
the Building Off~cial.
