HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975 07 18 Board of Adjustment Regular Minutes e e e REGULAR SESSION BOARD OF ADJUSTNENT CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS JULY 18, 1975 The Regular Session of the Board of Adjustment, City of Winter Springs was called to order by Chairman, Bob Williams, at 7:30 P. M. with members Mary Brunner, Carl Mitchell and John Sabatini present. The minutes of the June 27th meeting were read. John Sabatini moved to accept the minutes and Carl Mitchell seconded the motion. Chairman Williams then recessed the Regular Heeting and opened the Public Hearing on a request by Hr. Dryden Jones for a variance to City Ordinance Appendix A Zoning, Art. VII C-l Neighborhood Commercial Districts, Section 44.47 Uses Pennitted. Mr. Jones requested the variance in order to build a building housing a 7-11 store and space for a minimum of four additional shops and/or offices. His financing is contingent on the 7-11 lease. Hr. Jones said he has Letters of Intent from tenants ~ for the additional space. Letters were sent to all property owners within SOO feet of the proposed site. Bob Williams read a letter to the Board from a lawyer for W. L. Kirk, Jr. opposing this variance. Mr. Williams then closed the Public Hearing. Carl Mitchell moved the variance be granted and Mary Brunner seconded the motion. A vote was taken and the variance was granted with Carl Mitchell, Mary Brunner and Bob Williams voting for and John Sabatini voting against the variance. The City will be notified. The next order of business was a request by Mr. McKeever for a variance to City Ordinance Chapter S, Article VII, Fences, Walls, Hedges, etc., Section 5-127. Mr. & Mrs. McKeever were present and presented a letter to the Board signed by his neighbors stating they had no objections to his fence. 4It Bob \~illiams moved that Mr. McKeever's request for a variance be accepted and John Sabatini seconded the motion. The vote for acceptance was unanimous. e e e I , e e Regular Session, Board of Adjustment,City of Winter Springs, July 18, 1975 Page 2 In other busaness, it was stated that the City Building Inspector, Mr. Ray Bradshaw, will determine if the request for a variance is legal and will notify the Board in ~~iting regarding the particulars of each request. A public hearing must be held if there is any adverse reaction to any nequests for a variance. The Board will continue with the present Letters from Residents policy unless a problem develops. Bob Williams officially welcomed Mary Brunner as the newest member of the Board. The meeting day for the Board was changed to Wednesdays and the next meeting will be at 7:30 P. M. on August 20, 1975. Carl }iitchell accepted the post of Assistant Chairman of the Board. There being no further business, John Sabatini moved for adjourTh~ent and Carl tiitchell seconded the motion. Meeting was adjourned at 9:35 P. M.
