Monday, February 19, 1996 - President's Day

Monday, May 27, 1996 - Memorial Day
Thursday, July 4, 1996 - Independence Day
Monday, September 2, 1996 - Labor Day
Thursday, November 28, 1996 - Thanksgiving Day
Friday, November 29, 1996 - Day after Thanksgiving
Wednesday, December 25, 1996 - Christmas Day
Employees Birthday
ISSUE:
will
In 1997 the Christmas Holiday falls on Thursday. It is obvious that little work
be done on the Friday after Christmas due to most persons desire to have a long
weekend and impracticality to accomplish a productive work day.

There are three alternatives.
1) Keep the Holiday Schedule the same as the 1996 schedule.
2) Add the day after Christmas to the current Holiday Schedule as the eleventh
holiday (only for 1997).
3) Maintain 10 holidays and substitute the Friday after Christmas for Presidents
Day (or some other Holiday the Commission may deem more appropriate than
President's Day).
FUNDING: Not Applicable
RECOMMENDATION:
The Commission authorize one of the three Alternate Holiday Schedules.
IMPLEMENTATION:
The Holiday Schedule becomes law upon adoption of the Resolution.
