Authorization
REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department requests the City Commission review
the Lake Tuscawilla Cleanup Day Flyer which will be distributed
throughout the Tuscawilla development informing residents of the event
scheduled to be held Saturday, November 2,1996. See Attachment #1.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this agenda item is to update the Commission on the event should
they be asked about the event, and to extend an invitation to the Commission and
the public to visit the event.
BACKGROUND:
. On Monday, September 9, 1996 the Parks and Recreation Department and
the Trotwood Conceptual Master Planning Committee made a
presentation to the City Commission which detailed the proposed
Trotwood Conceptual Master Plan and the amentities to be included in the
future park development.
. As stated at the September 9, 1996 meeting the lake located in Trotwood
Park; Lake Tuscawilla, was a major concern and priority of the planning
committee. In fact, its importance was of such magnitude that the
committee agreed to remove the lake and its issues from the overall
planning process and address the lake as a separate and independent
project. This action was taken due to the lake having technical and unique
issues which would most likely slow down the master plan process of the
park had it not been separated.
