RESOLUTION NO. 685
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA,
SETTING THE AD VALOREM TAX MILLAGE RATE FOR THE CITY
OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1992-
1993; SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of Winter Springs, Florida, pursuant
to the general laws of the State of Florida, must set the Ad Valorem tax
millage rate for the City of Winter Springs, Florida, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be necessary and in the
best interest of the citizens of Winter Springs, Florida, to set the Ad
Valorem millage rate at 3.6153 mills and thus continue the services now
offered by the City as well as provide funds for the continued growth of the
City and to fund the budget for Fiscal Year 1992/1993, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is required by law to state the percent,
if any, by which the millage rate to be levied exceeds the rolled back rate, and
characterize such as the percentage increase in property taxes adopted by the
Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA:
SECTION I: That pursuant to the General Laws of the State of
Florida, the Ad Valorem Tax millage rate is set at 3.6153 mills for the
year 1992 through 1993 and said certified millage rate shall be forwarded to the
County Property Appraiser.
SECTION II: That the Ad Valorem millage rate of 3.6153 mills is
set so that the City of Winter Springs, Florida, will be able to continue existing
services and provide for future growth and City Commission deems it to be in the
best interest of the citizens of Winter Springs, Florida, that said 3.6153 mills
be established as the Ad Valorem tax millage rate to enable the City to completely
fund the City's budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1992 and ending
September 30, 1993.
SECTION III: That the millage rate of 3.6153 mills exceeds the
rolled back rate of 3.6136 mills by .0017 mills and is in fact a
.05% increase in property taxes.
SECTION IV: This Resolution shall remain in force until supplemented,
amended, repealed or otherwise altered.
SECTION V: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict
with this resolution are hereby repealed.
SECTION VI: This resolution shall take immediate effect upon
its passage and approval.
