MEMORANDUM

FROM: Doug Taylor
RE: Changes and Additions to Utility Rate Schedule
Ordinance No. 493, Backflow Prevention and Cross-
Connection, states that a fee for testing backflow pre-
vention devices are to be set by resolution.
As was decided at our October 2nd Utility Manage-
ment Committee Meeting the fee shall be $25.00. We need
a resolution to add this user charge schedule.
Also we should change the NSF check charges to
$15.00 or 5% whichever is greater. This is per Florida
Statutes No. 166.521 effective July 1, 1989.

MEMO TO: CITY MANAGER
FROM: FINANCE DIRECTOR
SUBJECT: ADMENDING RESOLUTION #600
AT THE PRESENT TIME WE DO NOT HAVE INCLUDED IN THE ABOVE
RESOLUTION A FEE FOR "RETURNED CHECKS". FLORIDA STATUTE
166.251 PERMITS A MUNICIPALITY TO ADOPT A SERVICE FEE OF $15
OR 5 PERCENT OF THE FACE OF THE CHECK, WHICHEVER IS GREATER,
AS A COLLECTION FEE.
WE HAVE BEEN CHARGING $10, BUT WE DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING
LISTED ON OUR SCHEDULE OF FEES.
I AS SUGGESTING THIS RESOLUTION BE ADMENDED TO INCLUDE A
RETURNED CHECK FEE.
