HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 627 Post Office RESOLUTION NO. 627 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, OBJECTING TO THE NEW BRANCH OFFICE OF THE POST OFFICE WHICH IS BEING BUILT IN THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, BEING ADDRESSED "CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA"; CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The City of Winter Springs, Florida, is an incorporated municipality and has been so incorporated for a period of more than thirty (30) years with its own elected Mayor and Commission and its own City Charter, and WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida, has a population in excess of 20,000 citizens and is larger than many of its neighboring municipalities which have their own exclusive post office and mailing address; and, WHEREAS, a new branch office of the post office is being built in Winter Springs, whose address will be Casselberry, Florida. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I - That the City of Winter Springs, Florida, does herewith and hereby object to the new branch office of the post office being built in Winter Springs being addressed Casselberry, Florida. SECTION II - That the City of Winter Springs requests the new United States Post Office being built in Winter Springs be named United States Post Office, Winter Springs Branch, Winter Springs, Florida, 32708. SECTION III - That copies of this Resolution shall be provided to the two United States Senators and the United States Congressman. SECTION IV - That this Resolution shall remain in force and effect until supplemented, amended, repealed or otherwise altered. SECTION V - All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION VI - This resolution shall take immediate effect upon its final passage and approval.
