HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 691 Bids ORDINANCE NO. 691 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, SECTION 2-152 (WHEN WRITTEN BIDS ARE REQUIRED; WAIVER) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, has determined that the following amendments to the Code of Ordinances is in the best interest of the City of Winter Springs, Florida. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA HEREBY ORDAINS: SECTION I - Chapter 2, Section 2-152, of the Code of Ordinances shall be amended to read as follows: Section 2-152. When written bids are required; waiver. The City Manager is authorized to purchase or contract for all commodities and services required by the City which does not exceed twelve thousand five hundred dollars ($12,500). The City may receive written bids on purchases of more than twelve thousand five hundred dollars ($12,500), or the City Commission may waive this requirement for the best interest of the City. The City Manager is authorized to establish a system, or amend the existing system, of uniform procurement procedures and practices to supplement this policy. Additions, deletions or amendments to these procedures and practices shall be at the sole discretion of the City Manager. SECTION II - If any Section or portion ofa Section of this Ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force or effect of any Section or portion of a Section. SECTION III - All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict are hereby repealed. SECTION IV - This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
