RESOLUTION NO. 563
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA,
REQUESTING THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF TRANS-
PORTATION, FOR AUTHORIZATION OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT THE
INTERSECTION OF SR-434 AND HAYES ROAD/WADE STREET:CON-
FLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida, upon receiving
information from Seminole County Traffic Division concerning the amount of
vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the intersection of SR-434 and Hayes Road/
Wade Street; as a result of the traffic on SR-434 and the increase of traffic
from Hayes Road/Wade Street and projected traffic flow from Mr. Greenwood
Planned Unit Development on Hayes Road, and
WHEREAS, the traffic on S.R. 434, increasing from vehicular
traffic at said intersection; and
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida, contends that
the aforementioned location comprises a hazardous traffic area, thereby
increasing the traffic flow on Hayes Road and Wade Street onto S.R. 434.
It is therefore requested that a traffic signal be installed at that location
to control vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, THAT:
SECTION I - the City of Winter Springs, Florida, does hereby
request that authorization be issued for a traffic signal at the inter-
section State Road 434 (County Section No. 35-20-30 and Hayes Road/Wade
Street in the City of Winter Springs, Seminole County, Florida.
SECTION II - the City of Winter Springs, Florida, will cause to
be installed at this location the traffic control device recommended by the
Department, and will have the installation funded by the appropriate assess-
ments, as determined by the City.
SECTION III - any traffic signal that may be installed will be
maintained in accordance with the Department's Traffic Signal Maintenance
Recommendations and the Signal Operating plan and the City will not make
any significant changes to the signal operation without prior Department
approval.
SECTION IV - the electric charges for operating any signal will
be paid by the City.
SECTION V - this Resolution shall remain in force until
supplemented, amended, repealed or otherwise altered.
SECTION VI
all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict
with this resolution are hereby repealed.
SECTION VII - this resolution shall take immediate effect upon
its passage and approval.
