HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 646 Telecommunication Towers ORDINANCE NO. 646 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, CONTINUING ITS MORATORIUM ON THE CONSTRUCTION AND/OR ERECTION AND/OR LOCATION AND PLACEMENT OF ANY TELECOMMUNICATION TOWERS WITHIN THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA; SAID MORATORIUM TO CONTINUE UP TO AND THROUGH MARCH 30, 1997, UNLESS THE CITY COMMISSION VOTES TO TERMINATE SAME AT AN EARLIER DATE, PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, is desirous of assuring the protection of the publics health, safety, and welfare providing for the proper placement of telecommunication towers within the City of Winter Springs, Florida, and WHEREAS, the law governing the placement of telecommunication towers is new and requires analysis prior to the implementation of a City policy on the construction and/or erection and or location and/or placement of telecommunication towers, and WHEREAS, the City has made progress in its preparation, review and analysis of a policy for citing but needs additional time to complete that work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I - A moratorium prohibiting the construction and/or erection of a telecommunication towers is hereby enacted and continued in the City of Winter Springs, Florida, up to and through March 30, 1997, unless the City Commission votes to end said moratorium at an earlier date. SECTION II - This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage. SECTION III - Any and all Ordinances in conflict herewith or Resolutions therein shall be considered repealed. ti Passed and adopted this 27th day of January, 1997 CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA PAUL P.
