Resolution No. 480
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA,
ENDORSING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A FULL SERVICE HOSPITAL
IN THE SOUTH SEMINOLE/EAST ORANGE COUNTY AREA, TO
SERVE THE RESIDENTS OF THIS CITY AND ITS SURROUNDING
SUBURBS, AND TO PROVIDE NEEDED HEALTH EDUCATION AND
ANCILLARY SERVICES TO THE CITIZENRY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of Winter Springs, Florida, is
acutely aware of the rapid expansion of population in the South Seminole/
East Orange County area, and
WHEREAS, the population increase has outstripped the available
health care resources, and
WHEREAS, the clear trend is for continual population growth in the
South Seminole/East Orange County area, and
WHEREAS, traffic and other transportation problems make travel to
currently available hospital centers slow and hazardous, and
WHEREAS, there is a demonstrated need for additional hospital services
in the South Seminole/East Orange County area, and
WHEREAS, a new full service hospital in the South Seminole/East
Orange County area will provide important educational and employment
opportunities, in addition to comprehensive health care.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA:
SECTION I - That the City Commission endorses the development of a
full service hospital in the South Seminole/East Orange County area, to
serve the residents of this City and its surrounding suburbs, and to provide
needed health education and ancillary services to the citizenry.
Approved and Adopted by the City Commission of the City of Winter
Springs, Florida, this 25th day of February, 1985.
