RESOLUTION NO. 467
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA,
IMPOSING A SIX MONTH MORATORIUM ON THE RECEIPT OF
APPLICATIONS FOR REVIEW OF A SITE PLAN FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT OF LAND UPON WHICH A CONVENIENCE STORE OR
GAS STATION, NOT INCLUDING FULL SERVICE GAS STATIONS,
WILL BE BUILT, OR A SPECIAL EXCEPTION FOR THE CON-
STRUCTION OF SUCH CONVENIENCE STORE AND/OR GAS STATIONS
NOT INCLUDING FULL SERVICE GAS STATIONS.
WHEREAS, the City Commission is concerned over the number of
applications for convenience stores and gas stations it has been receiving
and needs additional time to formulate a policy in regard to such uses, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission feels that an emergency situation
exists which requires a short moratorium while the City formulates policy in
this regard and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has recognized a need for service
stations or gas stations which can provide mechanical repair services for the
residents of Winter Springs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, THAT:
SECTION I - There shall be imposed a six month moratorium on the
receipt by the City of requests for special exceptions or applications for
review of a site plan for the construction of a gas station, not including
full service gas stations, or convenience stores within the City limits of
Winter Springs, Florida.
SECTION II - This moratorium shall be effective upon passage of this
resolution.
Passed and ADOPTED this 11th day of December, 1984.
