RESOLUTION NO. 442
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA,
INSTITUTING A WATER CONSERVATION PROGRAM; CONFLICT
AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City of Winter Springs, Florida,
to conserve its water resources and to enlist the efforts of its citizens in
such conservation; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to institute a water conservation program
to ensure an adequate water supply for the future and to assist its residents to
economize their expense for potable water.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, THAT:
SECTION I. The City of Winter Springs, Florida, endorses conservation
of water resources.
SECTION II. To institute a program of water conservation, the City
adopts the informational materials published by the American Water Works Associa-
tion and sanctioned by the St. Johns Water Management District.
SECTION III. The City encourages the privately owned utilities
supplying potable water to its citizens to furnish to each customer the afore-
mentioned materials providing suggestions to achieve water conservation and all
additional information at their disposal to aid consumers to conserve water.
SECTION IV. The City shall continue its efforts to promote conservation
of water resources in the future and shall schedule a public hearing at which
citizens may be further informed on the conservation program hereby initiated and
may contribute their ideas and suggestions to assure the success of the program.
SECTION V. This resolution shall remain in force until supplemented,
amended, repealed or otherwise altered.
SECTION VI. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict
with this resolution are hereby repealed.
SECTION VII. This resolution shall take immediate effect upon its
passage and approval.
