HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 440 Animal Control RESOLUTION NO. 440 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, IN SUPPORT OF STRENGTHENING SEMINOLE COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE; CONFLICTS; EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Seminole County, Florida, has under consideration the amendment of its animal control ordinance to strengthen its regulations pertaining to animals not under adequate restraint; and WHEREAS, citizens of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, have voiced concerns to their City Commission over the hazards to persons and to well- behaved animals caused by failure of some individuals to exercise sufficient control over belligerent animals. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA THAT: SECTION I. - The City of Winter Springs, Florida, strongly supports the establishment of more stringent animal control regulations to eliminate the danger and nuisance of unrestrained animals at large in our community. SECTION II. - The City wholeheartedly favors passage of a strengthened animal control ordinance by Seminole County. SECTION III. This Resolution shall remain in force and effect until supplemented, amended, repealed or otherwise altered. SECTION IV. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION V. This Resolution shall take immediate effect upon its passage and adoption.
