HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 439 Child Care RESOLUTION NO. 439 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, CERTIFYING ITS APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT ASSISTANCE TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR CHILD CARE TO UN- EMPLOYED INDIVIDUALS WHILE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT; AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF MATCHING FUNDS. WHEREAS, the Department of Community Affairs of the State of Florida, through its Community Services Block Grant,has allocated monies to assist local governments to provide essential and necessary human services, especially aimed toward reducing poverty; and WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs has executed an application dated February 15, 1984, for funding of a short-term program to provide funds to be used to pay the costs of professional care for the dependent children of unemployed persons during the hours such persons are actively applying and interviewing for employment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, THAT: SECTION I - The City of Winter Springs hereby certifies its application dated February IS, 1984 to the State of Florida, Department of Community Affairs, for Community Services Block Grant monies to fund a limited child care program. SECTION II - The City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, hereby authorizes the expenditure of funds from its 1983-1984 General Fund budget to contribute $80.00, or two (2) percent of the funds requested to be granted to the City by the Department for utilization for the child care program, and pledges to encumber such monies to be spent only for this program. SECTION III - The City further agrees to contribute the equivalent of $71S in administrative time and supplies, or eighteen (18) percent of the grant amount requested. SECTION IV. - This Resolution shall remain in force and effect until supplemented, amended, repealed or otherwise altered. SECTION V - All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION VI - This Resolution shall take immediate effect upon its passage and adoption.
