RESOLUTION NO. 422
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA,
REQUESTING THE COUNCIL OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN SEMINOLE
COUNTY TO ASSIST THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS IN THEIR
EFFORTS TO OBTAIN A POST OFFICE; SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS,
AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida, is an incorporated
municipality and has been so incorporated for a period of more than twenty
(20) years with its own elected Mayor and Commission and its own City Charter;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida, has a population in
excess of 14,OOO citizens and is larger than many of its neighboring munici-
palities which have their own exclusive post office; and
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida, has been attempting
to obtain its own post office for many years to no avail.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA:
SECTION I - That the City of Winter Springs requests the assistance
of the Council of Local Governments in Seminole County in their efforts to
obtain a post office.
SECTION II - That copies of this Resolution be provided to the
United States Senators and Congressmen from the State of Florida and to the
State Senators and Representatives from the State of Florida and to the United
States Post Office.
SECTION III - That this Resolution shall remain in force and effect
until supplemented, amended, repealed or otherwise altered.
SECTION IV - All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with
this resolution are hereby repealed.
SECTION V - This resolution shall take immediate effect upon its
final pas sase and approval.
