HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 563 Water Service Rates ORDINANCE NO. 563 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA , AMENDING SEC. 19-102(1) USER CHARGE SCHEDULE, MONTHLY WATER SERVICE RATES AND SEC. 19-102(6) USER CHARGE SCHEDULE, BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICE TESTING FEE, GENERAL OF ARTICLE II, CHAPTER 19, DIV. 4 RATES, FEES AND CHARGES: PROVIDING SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, has determined it to be in the best interest of the safety, health, and welfare of the citizens of the City of Winter Springs to provide for the adoption of Rates, Fees and Charges relating to water and wastewater and WHEREAS, it is necessary to update these Codes from time to time. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That Sec. 19-102(1) User Charge Schedule, Monthly Water Service Rates is hereby deleted in its entirety, and the following replaced therefore: Sec. 19-102(1). Monthly water service rates. The water rate shall include a base facility charge based on the size of the meter plus a volume charge per one thousand (1,000) gallons or a fraction thereof as set forth below: Meter Size (in inches) 5/8 X 3/4 and 3/4 ........... 1 .......................... 1 1/2 : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2 .......................... 3 .......................... 4 .......................... 6 .......................... SECTION II.. That Sec. 19-102(6) User Charge Schedule, Miscellaneous charges is hereby deleted in its entirety, and the following replaced therefore: (6) Miscellaneous Charges: a. Reinstatement fee for turning on service after disconnection for non paymnet of bill $ 10.00 b. Fee or charge for actual damages (whichever is greater) for contamination or alteration of a water meter, line or connection $ 50 .00 c. Inspection fee for each connection requested $ 20.00 d.Fee for all checks returned by bank, includes checks returned for insufficient funds or closed account . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 20.00 e. Application Fee $ 10.00 f. Reinstallation charge for meter removed because of nonpayment or inability to lock off $ 25.00 g. Pretreatment charge, as established by the City Commission by resolution. h. Deposit fee for residential users $ 65.00 i. Deposit fee for nonresidential users $200.00 j. Capacity reservation charge, established by a developer agreement. k. Television inspection of new sewer mains and laterals installed by contractors for acceptance by City: 1. Inspection fee using the City's TV camera and crew $100.00/per hr. 2. Inspector Only (contractor supplies camera and crew)................ $ 25.00/per hr. SECTION III CONFLICTS All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith being the same are hereby repealed. SECTION IV SEVERABILITY. If any section or portion of a section or subsection of this ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force or effect of any other section or portion of section or subsection or part of this Ordinance.
