HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 560 Environmental Site Assessment ORDINANCE NO. 560 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING AS A CONDITION OF THE CITY'S PURCHASE OR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY, THE REQUIREMENT THAT AN ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENT BE CONDUCTED PRIOR TO THE CITY'S PURCHASE OR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY; CONFLICTS AND SEVERABILITY. WHEREAS, the City Commission for the City of Winter Springs, Florida, has determined it to be in the interest of the health, welfare and safety, that an environmental site assessment be done prior to the City's purchase or lease of real property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I - That prior to the City of Winter Springs, Florida, purchasing or leasing real property, a Levell environmental site assessment shall be con- ducted with a written report furnished to the City Commission of the assessments. In the event that the Level 1 assessment recommends the next level of environmental assessment no property shall be leased or purchased by the City without the sub- sequent environmental site assessment levels being completed as recommended by the Level 1 environmental site assessment. SECTION II - That any ordinances or resolutions in conflict herewith shall be repealed to the extent of the conflict. SECTION III - That this Ordinance shall help effect upon its passage in accordance with Florida law.
