RESOLUTION NO. 380
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA,
REQUESTING THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION, TO DESIGN A TRAFFIC SIGNAL FOR THE
INTERSECTION OF S. R. 434 AND EDGEMON AVENUE; CONFLICT
AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on December 11, 1980, the State of Florida, Department
of Transportation, authorized the installation of a traffic signal at the inter-
section of S. R. 434 and Edgemon Avenue in this City; and
\VHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida, wishes to reaffirm
its commitment to fund and maintain a traffic signal at that location and
requests the Department of Transportation to proceed with the engineering design
for the traffic signal at its earliest convenience,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, THAT:
SECTION I - The City does hereby request that current authorization
be issued for a traffic signal at the intersection of State Road 434 (County
Section #77120) and Edgemon Avenue in Winter Springs, Seminole County, Florida.
SECTION II - The City will install the type of signal recommended
by the Department and pay for the signal out of local funds.
SECTION III - The City will maintain the traffic signal in
accordance with the Department of Transportation Traffic Signal Maintenance
recommendations and the Signal Operating Plan.
SECTION IV - The City will pay the electrical charges for operating
the signal.
SECTION V - The City will not make any significant changes to the
signal operation, to include timing, without prior Department of Transportation
approval.
SECTION VI - This resolution shall remain in force until supplemented,
amended, repealed or otherwise altered.
SECTION VII - All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict
with this resolution are hereby repealed:
SECTION VIII - This resolution shall take immediate effect upon its
passage and approval.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 23 day of February, 1982.
