HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 345 Paramedic Program RESOLUTION NO. 345 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, CERTIFYING ITS APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY SERVICES TRUST FUND ASSISTANCE TO IMPLEMENT A PARAMEDIC PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF MATCHING FUNDS. WHEREAS, within the City limits of Winter Springs, Florida, there is no hospital or other source of 24-hour medical treatment; and WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs desires to establish a Paramedic Program to provide rapid and more effective emergency medical care to its citizens; and WHEREAS, the Department of Community Affairs of the State of Florida, through its Community Services Trust Fund, has allocated monies to assist local governments to provide essential and necessary human services; and WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs has executed an application dated February 10,1981, for funding of a portion of the initial costs of establishing and implementing a Paramedic Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, THAT: SECTION I - The City of Winter Springs hereby certifies its application dated February 10,1981, to the State of Florida, Department of Community Affairs, for Community Services Trust Fund monies to assist in the establishment and implementation of a Paramedic Program. SECTION II - The City Council of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, hereby authorizes the expenditures of funds from its 1980-81 General Government End of Year Reserves to match a minimum of one hundred percent (100%) of all funds granted to the City by the Department for utilization for a Paramedic Program and pledges to encumber such monies to be spent only for this program. SECTION III - This Resolution shall remain in force and effect until supplemented, amended, repealed or otherwise altered. SECTION IV - All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION V - This Resolution shall take immediate effect upon its passage and adoption.
