HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 322 Disaster Contingency Plan RESOLUTION NO. 322 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WlNTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA CONCURRING WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE DISASTER CONTINGENCY PLAN ADDENDUM 'ID THE SOLID WASTE MANAGE- MENT RESOURCE RECOVERY PLAN FOR SEMINOLE COUNTY AND ITS MUNICIPALITIES; CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the State of Florida has approved the Solid Waste Management Resource Recovery Plan for Seminole County and its Municipalities, and WHEREAS, the State of Florida requested that an addendum to this Plan be prepared to provide for control of solid waste during a rnajor natural disaster; and WHEREAS, the countywide Solid Waste Management Team has written a Disaster Contingency Plan Addendum and included therein individual plans submitted by each municipality, and WHEREAS, the Council of Local Governments in Seminole County approved the Addendum on September 3, 1980, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WJNrER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I - The City of Winter Springs concurs with the provisions of the Disaster Contingency Plan Addendum to the Solid waste Management Resource Recovery Plan for Seminole County and its municipali ties and agrees to participate in its implementation and effectuation during t:imes of major natural disaster. SECTION II - The City of Winter Springs agrees to fulfill the commitment in its individual emergency plan incorporated in the county- wide Disaster Contingency Plan for the protection of the health and welfare of its citizens and their environment should an extreme emergency of natural causation threaten their well-being. SECTION III - This Resolution shall remain in force and effect until supplemented, amended, repealed or otherwise altered. SECTION IV - All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION V - This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon final passage and adoption.
