HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 308 North/South Edgemon RESOLUTION NO. 308 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE PAVING AND DRAINAGE OF NORTH AND SOUTH EDGEMON AVENUE IN THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR THE FINAL ASSESSMENT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 170 OF THE FLORIDA STATUTES THROUGH FACILITIES OF THE SEMINOLE COUNTY PROPERTY APPRAISER; PROVIDING FOR COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENTS FOR ASSESSMENr THROUGH FACILITIES OF THE SEMINOLE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR; DESIGNATING PROPERTIES TO BE ASSESSED; DESIGNATING AMOUNT TO BE ASSESSED AND COLLECTED FOR ALL DESIGNATED PROPERTIES; CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida, has determined it would be in the best interest of the city to provide for a public improvement on North and South Edgemon Avenue within the city and that the nature of said improvement shall be the paving of said street and pending drainage therefore; and WHEREAS, the engineering firm of Clark, Dietz and Associates-Engineers, Inc. has inspected and determined that the aforesaid improvement has been substantially completed in accordance with the drawings and contract documents; and WHEREAS, all provisions of Resolution 259 have been met and complied with, and WHEREAS, it has been deemed appropriate and in the best interest of the City of Winter Springs, Florida to have the final assessment accomolished through the facilities of the Seminole County Property Appraiser and collection of said assessment through the Seminole County Tax Collector; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I - That the public improvement consisting of paving of streets and drainage improvements on North and South Edgemon Avenue, has been substantially completed and approved and accepted by the city per Resolution No. 294. SECTION II - That the assessment provided by Resolution 292 shall be assessed through the facilities of the Property Appraiser of Seminole County and shall be collected through the facilities of the Tax Collector of Seminole County. SECTION III - That the assessments provided for shall be payable in ten (10) equal yearly installments and shall bear interest at the rate of' eight percent (8%) per annum from the date of' acceptance. SECTION IV - That the respective amounts hereinafter set forth are the first of the ten (10) equal yearly assessments, by legal description, to be assessed and collected against each lot or parcel. - 'tU Cl _ .~ ...
