HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 297 Personnel Policy RESOLUTION NO. 291 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, REPEALING RESOLUTION NUMBER 188 WHICH PROVIDED FOR THE ADOPTION OF A PERSONNEL POLICY OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, DATED SEPTEMBER 12, 1977, AND ADOPTING A MORE CURRENT AND EFFECTIVE PERSONNEL POLICY OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, DATED APRIL 8, 1980; SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Resolution Number 188 has become outdated, and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance Number 153 of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, adopted July 25, 1977, the City Council must by Resolution adopt a Personnel Policy, and WHEREAS, said Personnel Policy is to include a system for the recruiting, selecting, developing and maintaining of an effective and responsive work force, and include policies and procedures for employee hirings and advancement, training and career development, for job classi- fications, salary administration, retirement, fringe benefits, discipline, discharge, and other related activities, and WHEREAS, the City Council had instructed the City Manager to prepare a more current and effective Personnel Policy for the City of Winter Springs, Florida. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I - That the Personnel Policy prepared by the City Manager and dated April 8, 1980 is hereby adopted pursuant to this Resolution and authority of Ordinance Number 153. SECTION II - That the Personnel Policy adopted contains all requirements and may be amended from time to time by Resolution. SECTION III - Resolution Number 188 and all Resolutions, or parts of Resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are hereby repealed.
