HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 410 Fire Prevention/Protection ORDINANCE NO. 410 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 6.2.1 and SECTION 6.2.2. OF CHAPTER 6 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, ENTITLED "FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION"; SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, has determined it to be in the best interests of the safety, health and welfare of the citizens of the City of Winter Springs to provide for the adoption of the Fire Prevention Codes, and WHEREAS, it is necessary to update these Codes from time to time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA: SECTION I - That Section 6.2.1. and Section 6.2.2 of Chapter 6 of the Code of Ordinances be amended as follows: Section 6.2.1. Composition of Code. The Fire Prevention Code shall be composed collectively of the herein specified codes, subject to the qualifications prescribed subsequently. (a) The National Fire Protection Association Pamphlet 1, Fire Prevention Code, 1982 edition. (b) The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Code 101, 1985 edition. Section 6.2.2. Effect of Code. The specified codes comprising the Fire Prevention Code, hereinafter referred to as the Code, are hereby adopted and incorporated herein as fully as if set out at length, save and except such portions as are herein- after deleted, modified, or amended. One copy of the complete Code shall be on file in the office of the Fire Marshal. The provisions of the Code shall be controlling within the limits of the City from the date this section takes effect. SECTION II - If any section or portion of this Ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or im- pair the validity, force or effect of any other section or portion of a section or sub-section or part of this Ordinance. SECTION III - All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION IV - This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption.
