HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 119 Telephone Advertising RESOLUTION NO. 119 WHEREAS, it is currently an acceptable practice for a monopoly or exclusive franchise such as Southern Bell Telephone Company to advertise within the area of its exclusive jurisdiction, and WHEREAS, it is currently an acceptable procedure to pass on the costs of such advertising to the customers or consumers of said monopoly or franchise, and WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Winter Springs, Florida feels that such advertising costs should not be borne by the customers or consumers of said monopoly or franchise. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, as follows: 1. That a monopoly or exclusive franchise operating within the City of Winter Springs, Florida should be denied the right to advertise within the City of Winter Springs, Florida if the costs of such advertising are borne by the customers or consumers of such monopoly or exclusive franchise. 2. That a monopoly or exclusive franchise shall be allowed to advertise within the City of Winter Springs, Florida if the costs of such advertising are borne by said monopoly or exclusive franchise rather than its customers or consumers.
