RESOLUTION NO.118 WHEREAS, there is currently pending before the Florida Public Service Commission a Petition for increased telephone rates submitted by the Southern Bell Telephone Company, and WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida, is located within the jurisdiction of the Southern Bell Telephone Company, and WHEREAS, the telephone rates for the City of Winter Springs, Florida are presently considered by the city Council to be excessive both in relationship to the type of service being rendered and the rates being charged by telephone companies servicing other areas of Seminole County, Florida, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, as follows: I. That the Florida Public Service Commission is hereby petitioned to deny the rate increase set forth in the request of the Bell Telephone Company. 2. That the Florida Public Service Commission is petitioned to request an application to provide more efficient and reliable telephone service to the cities located their jurisdiction. 3. That the Florida Public Service Commission is petitioned to change the circumstances which require the city of Winter Springs, Florida, to pay a long distance toll for call to residents within the City of Orlando, Florida.
