R-E-S-O-L-U-T-I-O-N N-O. 98
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States of America
is currently considering legislation to assist local and state
governments by sharing federal tax funds with them, and
WHEREAS, the local and state governments are desperately
in need of such funds to discharge their governmental obligations,
and
WHEREAS, Senator Edward J. Gurney has introduced an
amendment to the currently proposed legislation which would
greatly improve such legislation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, IN LAWFUL
ASSEMBLY GATHERED, THAT:
1. The Congress of the United States of America should
be encouraged to assist the local and state governments of the
nation through revenue sharing legislation.
2. The currently proposed bill for this purpose would
be greatly improved by the implementation of Senator Edward J.
Curney's amendment in relation to the distribution of the said
funds.
3. The Congress of the United States of America is
urgently requested to amend and pass the proposed revenue
sharing legislation.
