RESOLUTION #73
WHEREAS, Article III, Section 12, of the Charter of the Village
of North Orlando, Florida, states:, "If there shall be a vacancy in
any elective office, the Village Council, or so much of it as shall
remain, shall have power, by resolution, to fill such vacancy by the
appointment of a suitable person to hold such office until the next
general election and until his successor shall be elected and
qualified," and,
WHEREAS, such a vacancy does exist on the Village Council due
to the resignation of Mr. Jack Hipps, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Granville Brown is familiar with the responsibilities
and duties pertaining to the office of Councilman and is qualified and
eligible to accept these responsibilities, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Granville Brown has expressed his willingness to faithfully
perform and enter upon all the duties of said office,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO, FLORIDA, that Mr. Granville Brown shall be and
is hereby appointed as COUNClIMAN OF GROUP 2 (unexpired term) of the
VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO, and shall hold such office until the next
General Election in March, 1967.
PASSED THIS 18th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1966.
