ORDINANCR NO. 110
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS,
FLORIDA, CREATING A WINTER SPRINGS FIRE
DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING THE WINTER SPRINGS
FIRE CHIEF TO BE ADMINISTRATIVE HEAD OF THE
WINTER SPRINGS FIRE DEPARTMENT AND VOLUNTEER
FIRE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING THE WINTER SPRINGS
FIRE CHIEF WITH AUTHORITY TO ENFORCE ALL
ORDINANCES AND REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO THE
FIRE DEPARTMENT; SEVERABILITY; CONFLICTS AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs, Florida is
presently without an autonomous fire department other than the
volunteer fire department, .and
WHEREAS, the Winter Springs Fire Chief is vested with
no authority to act in behalf of the City of Winter Springs
regarding fire prevention and protection, and
WHEREAS, .even routine matters concerning the fire
department must presently be brought before the City Council of
Winter Springs, Florida, before any action can be taken on
behaf of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Winter Springs,
Florida desires to establish an autonomous fire department and
provide the Winter Springs Fire Chief with the authority to
enforce all ordinances and regulations pertaining to the fire
department,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY,
OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, HEREBY ORDAINS; .
1. That the Winter Springs Fire Department is hereby
created as a separate and autonomous municipal department.
2,That the Winter Springs Fire Chief shall be the
administrative head of the Winter Springs Fire Department and
Volunteer Fire Department.
3. That the Winter Springs Fire Chief shall have the
authority to enforce all ordinances and regulations of the City
of Winter Springs pertaining to the fire department.
4, If any section or portion of section or subsection
subsection or part of this ordinance,
S, That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith shall be, and the same are hereby repealed.
6, This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
passage.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CON-
SIDER THE ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the City Council of the
City of Winter Springs, Florida, that said Council will held
a public hearing at 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible
on Monday, October 7, 1974, to consider the adoption of an
ordinance by the City of Winter Springs, Florida, title of
which is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS,
FLORIDA, CREATING A WINTER SPRINGS FIRE
DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING THE WINTER SPRINGS
FIRE CHIEF TO BE ADMINISTRATIVE HEAD OF THE
WINTER SPRINGS FIRE DEPARTMENT AND VOLUNTEER
FIRE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING THE WINTER SPRINGS
FIRE CHIEF WITH AUTHORITY TO ENFORCE ALL
ORDINANCES AND REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO THE
FIRE DEPARTMENT; SEVERABILITY; CONFLICTS AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.
A copy of said Ordinance shall be available at the
office of the City Clerk of Winter Springs, Florida, for all
persons desiring to examine same.
ALL INTERESTED PARTIES are invited to attend and be
heard.
THIS NOTICE shall be published in the ORLANDO SENTINEL
STAR, a newspaper of general circulation in said City, one (1)
time at least 5 days prior to the time of the public hearing.
