HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 52 Dog PermitsORDINANCE NUMBER 52 CORRECT READING DATES ARE: FIRST READING: 07/16/70 SECOND READING: 08/03/70 THIRD READING: 08/03/70 ORDINANCE NO. 52 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO, FLORIDA, ALLOWING SPECIAL PERMITS TO BE ISSUED PERMITTING MORE THAN TWO DOGS IN A SINGLE RESIDENCE, DESCRIBING APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS, PROVIDING THE METHOD OF ISSUING SAID SPECIAL PERMITS, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. No resident in North Orlando may maintain more than two (2) adult dogs in a single residence within the Village of North Orlando, Florida; provided however, the Village Council may grant a special permit for the maintenance of more than two (2) dogs within a single residence when the applicant has met the following conditions: (a) An applicant must submit a special application for a permit, naming the number of dogs owned, the address of the applicant and the addresses of all sur- rounding property owners within one hundred (100) feet of the property on which the dogs are to be maintained. (b) The application for the special permit, together with a ten dollar ($10.00) application fee, shall be filed with the Village Clerk. (c) A Public Hearing on the application shall be held at the next regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of North Orlando,Florida; provided, however, that each adjoining resident within the said one hundred (100) feet of the applicant shall be notified of said meeting by mail at least ten (10) days prior thereto. (d) The Village Council, by majority vote, may grant a permit for maintaining more than two (2) dogs within a single residence for a one year period of time and the said permit shall be renewed for an additional period of one (1) year without public hearing or notification unless a resident within one hundred (100) feet of the application shall have registered a complaint with the Village Council of the Village of North Orlando, Florida. SECTION 2. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and henceforth shall be held as null and void. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption and signing by the Village Council and the Mayor of the Village of North Orlando, Florida.
