HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 46 Bird Sanctuary ORDINANCE NO . 46 AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE ENTIRE AREA WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO A BIRD SANCTUARY; PROHIBITING THE UN- LAWFUL TRAPPING, HUNTING, KILLING AND MAIMING OF BIRDS; AND PROVIDING THE PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; REPEALING ANY ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDI- NANCE . BE IT ORDAINED by the Village Council of the Village of North Orlando, Florida, as follows: SECTION 1. That the entire area now embraced by the corporate limits of the Village of North Orlando, Florida, shall be designated as a bird sanctuary. SECTION 2. That adequate signs be erected at entrances signifying the designation of the area within the corporate limits of the Village of North Orlando as a bird sanctuary. SECTION 3. That it shall be unlawful to hunt, kill, main or trap; hunt with a sligshot, gun or attempt to in any manner shoot or otherwise molest birds or any wild fowl; to rob or otherwise molest the nests of birds nesting or located within the corporate limits of the Village of North Orlando. SECTION 4. That any person violating any of the pro- visions of this ordinance, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or imprisonment for not more than thirty (30) days, or by both fine and jail sentence. SECTION 5. If any section, clause or provision of this ordinance shall for any reason be held to be void and of no effect by any court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect the validity of this ordinance. SECTION 6. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its enactment. FIRST READING Read this 5th day of February, 1968. SECOND READING Read this 4th day of March, 1968.
