HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 12 Streets/Roads - ORDINANCE #12 AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO SAFETY AND WELFARE WITHIN THE VILLAGE LIMITS OF TilE VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO IN REFERENCE TO PROPER USAGE AND CARE OF STREETS AND ROADS 'ilITIIIN THE VILLAGE LIMITS. WHEREAS the cleats, cogs, and tracks of many types of land developing and building machinery would create dangerous ruts and holes in the Village streets and roads, and \~~ shod hooves of horses also create dangerous holes and roughen the surfaces of the Village streets and roads, and \~REAS it is the duty of the Village to prevent damage to vehicles and injuries to pedestrians by keeping the Village streets and roads in as good condition as possible, Nml, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED: 1/ That no vehicles of any type without rubber tires shall run over or on any Village street or road without first receiving expressed permission of the Village Police Department. 2/ That any person receiving this permission must use planks at least 2" thick separating the vehicle from the surface of the road at all times. 3/ That any person riding, driving, or leading horses within the Village Limits must stay off all streets and roads except to cross the same, and the crossing must be made at a 90~ angle to the street or road. 4/ That any person or persons violating the provisions of any section of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine not exceeding ~~o Hundred Dollars ($200.00) or by imprisonment for a period not exceeding Sixty (60) days, or by both such fine or imprisomnent in the discretion of the Hunicipal Court. 5/ Any requirement of reading this Ordinance Dn separate days be and the same is hereby dispensed with by the unanimous vote of the Village Councilmen of the Village of North Orlando, Florida. 6/ l~is Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption by the Village Council of the Village of North Orlando. -~ PASSED TIUS ~- DAY OFCJ~ o , 1960.
