HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 02 Occupational License * See amending Ordinance #36 ORDINANCE NO. 2 ORDINANCE FIXING FEES IN RELATION TO THE GRANTING OF A CITY OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE TO ANY PERSON, PERSONS, PARTNERSHIP, AND/OR CORPORATION AS A CONDITION TO ENGAGING IN ANY BUSINESS, PROFESSION OR OCCUPATION WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF NOR TH ORLANDO; CREATING A SCHEDULE OF CLASSIFICATIONS OF OCCUPATIONS REQUIRED TO BE LICENSED; PROVIDING THAT THE SHORT TITLE OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE "CITY OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE FEE SCHEDULE"; PROVIDING FOR PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Village Council of the Village of North Or- lando, Florida: 1. That the schedule of fees which is attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof, and the classifications of the various occupations, busi- nesses, or professions, as contained in said fee schedule, be and the same are hereby adopted as the amounts required to procure occupational licenses in the Village of North Orlando in accordance with the classification set out therein. 2. That every person engaged in or managing any business, profession or occupation referred to in the aforementioned schedule of fees and as classi- fied therein shall, on or before October First (l st) of each year, and always be- fore engaging in any business, profession or occupation, pay to the Village Of North Orlando the occupational license fee provided for in the fee schedule for each separate location in the City. 3. The short title of this ordinance shall be "City Occupational License Fee Schedule". 4. Any person violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon being convicted thereof shall be fined a sum not exceeding Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding 60 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each day such violation is com- mitted, or permitted to continue shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable as such hereunder. PROFESSIONAL: The following oractitioners are classified as professional and each person engaged in the practice of any such pro- fession is required to cover his practice by taking out a professional license as follows: Accountants and Auditors, certified or not, Architects, including drafting architects Attorneys at law Bookkeepers, including income tax service Dentists, including Dental Hygienists Doctors - Medical, Physicians & Surgeons Public Stenographers For each additional partner or person practicing the profession listed and operating in connection with a person duly licensed as provided herein, license shall be issued in the name of the person so licensed, permitting the operation of the additional person in connection with the person taking out this additional license and with no other non-transferable license, each additional person as provided herein l0.
