WHEREAS, the 2002 National High School JROTC Drill Teal11 Chanzpionshij)s were
held May 3rd through the 5th, 2002 in Daytona Beach, Florida; with cadets
from 63 High Schools from across the United States of America competing
for top honors; and
WHEREAS, more than 2,000 students competed in the "Arnlecl Knockout Drill" which in
and of itself required incredible skill, precision, determination, excellent
judgement, and perseverance; and
JVHEREAS, of the more than 2,000 cadets who competed in this category, IYinter 5)Jrings
High School took three of the top 10 coveted spots: 7th place; 2nd place; and
the top ranking award of 1st Place - National Champion; and
WHEREAS, from ~Vinter SpingsHigh School - Victor Frasqueri placed 1h; rd place and
runner up was Nicholas Casella; and 1st place and National Champion was
Jason Laurencelle.
NOW, THEREFORE, l, PAUL P. PARTYKA, Mayor of the City of Winter Springs, hereby do
Proclaim Monday, May 13, 2002, as a Day of Recognition in honor of
"WINTER SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL
JROTC ARMED KNOCKOUT DRILL WINNERS"
