U/HEREAS, from May 3rd through the 5th, 2002, the 2002 JROTe National High S'chool
Drill Tean1 Cha111JJionshijJs were held in Daytona Beach, Florida; and
approximately 3,000 cadets from 63 High Schools from across the United
States of America competed in various demanding exercises to determine
the best of the best; and
U/HEREAS, to excel in the "lnsjJee/ion" category required the platoon to exhibit
incredible composure, self-control, much technical expertise, knowledge
and skill in response to numerous orders directed at the platoon; and
U/HEREAS, 1:J:'infer Springs High School did of course successfully surpass all the other
teams and are the National Champions for this category as a result of the
precise and meticulous skills of the following thirteen team members:

NOW, THEREFORE, 1, PAUL P. PARTYKA, Mayor of the City of Winter Springs, hereby do
Proclaim Monday, May 13, 2002, as a Day of Recognition in honor of the
"NATIONAL CHAMPION
WINTER SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL JROTC DRILL TEAM"
