\VHER the Mayor and the City Commission of the City of Winter Springs, Florida recognize MS. OLGA
VIANA for her accomplishments in receiving the Teacher of the Year award for Layer Elementary School.
\VHEREAS. MS. OLGA VIANA has been described as a team player and you can see her accomplishments by
just looking at the long list of awards and honors that her students have received for their art work. One of her 3 rd
grade students receive the Best Conservation Statement at the State level in April 2006 as well as another one of
her 3rd grade students received a Honorable Mention for their artwork at State level. Also, in April 2005, one of
her 5th grade students won first place for the Law Week 2005 Poster Contest. Her current Principal, Gay Staats
remarked that Ms. Viana "has a gentle manner in working with children and is capable of identifying their gifts
and talents in artistic endeavors. She provides guidance and inspires their inventive creations...[she] is an
exceptional person who touches the hearts of others as she teaches."
THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Winter Springs do hereby offer this
