OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, Law Enforcement Officers are our guardians of life and property,
defenders of the individual right to be free men and women, warriors in the war
against crime and dedicated to the preservation of life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness; and
WHEREAS, Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics
protect our families and property from disaster, put their lives on the line on a regular
basis and routinely perform heroic tasks to keep the citizens safe; and
WHEREAS, May 14, 2006, marks the beginning of National Police Week and
Emergency Medical Services Week, and the City of Winter Springs desires to pay
tribute to the valor, service and dedication to the preservation of life by Law
Enforcement Officers and Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians and
Paramedics who work in Winter Springs.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOHN F. BUSH, by virtue of the authority vested in me
as Mayor of the City of Winter Springs, Florida, do hereby issue this proclamation in
honor of
~National Police Week and Emergency Medical Services Week~
Honoring all of our dedicated emergency responders who work in Winter Springs,
and call upon all citizens in Winter Springs to especially honor and show our sincere
appreciation for those officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians and
paramedics of Winter Springs, who protect our homes and family each day and who
are willing to sacrifice their lives, if necessary, to guard our loved ones and protect
our property.
