WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs encourages partnerships and interactive relationships
between the City, area schools, City Community Policing personnel, other Law Enforcement
Agencies and organizations serving the needs of our community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs recognizes the benefit of positive programs which
provide safety and security for the youth of our community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs recognizes that the Florida Electronic Evidence
Team (FLEET) and the United States Secret Service have partnered to create "Pr~ject KIDS," the
Internet Safety Initiative & Strategy; and
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs recognizes that "Pr~ject KIDS" was created to
produce and review Internet Safety Education directed toward children and young adults; and
WHEREAS, the City of Winter Springs recognizes that Florida Electronic Evidence Team
personnel speak to area students at Elementary, Middle and High Schools as well as Colleges and
Universities with age-appropriate information about safety when using the Internet or "chat rooms,"
as well as how to avoid or deal with personal safety issues, web threats, cyber stalking, copyright
infringements and internet fraud.
NOW THEREFORE, I, JOHN F. BUSH, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF WINTER
SPRINGS do hereby proclaim November 2005 in the City of Winter Springs in recognition of
