WHEREAS, the Third Infantry (Marne) Division, presently stationed in the Republic of
Germany and standing as a deterrent to any aggressor who would dare threaten the security of this
nation and the peace of the world, and
WHEREAS this Division has earned the distinction of being the most decorated Division
within the United States Army and
WHEREAS the citizens of the City of Winter Springs, Florida recognizes the patriotism
displayed by this division and
WHEREAS the citizens of Winter Springs, Florida take great pride in honoring those
gallant men who have served in this Division and especially to those brave men who have paid the
supreme price with their lives.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, PHILIP A. KULBES, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS,
FLORIDA, take pride in honoring the Third Infantry Division for its gallantry,
achievements and its continuing mission of serving this nation in an effort to maintain our world-
wide status as the leading nation fighting to preserve freedom throughout the world and do hereby
proclaim all of the members of this Division honorary citizens of the City of Winter Springs,
Florida and do proclaim the month of November 1993 as
THIRD INFANTRY DIVISION MONTH
and urge all of our citizens to honor every member of this Division in recognizing the patriotism
these men have demonstrated by their devotion to duty, enduring hardships and sacrifices so that we
as a nation can continue t enjoy the freedom upon which this country was founded.
